Cindy Salach and Sheila Donohue ( pictured: Green Mill, 1995 ) becameChicago's premiere performance poetry duo by the mid-90s using a very tightly woven multivocal technique. Their performance style evolved from a long thread of previouscollaborations. There are few words to describe exactly what the technique involvesother than to say that the two artists simply speak as one seamless entity, occasionally in alternate words or alternate phrases, occasionally in parallel, but always with a coherencethat only experience and a shared intuition could create. copyright (c) 1996 Kurt Heintz |
